Business/Corporate Ambulance Membership Program
Our Business/Corporate Membership Program covers your employees while at work regardless of where they live. These annual memberships run on the calendar year: January 1 through December 31.
Incorporated as a 501(c) (3) non-profit community ambulance service in 1954, STEMS serves Susquehanna Township as well as Paxtang and Penbrook Boroughs. Our paid Paramedics and EMTs, supplemented by volunteers, are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We rely on insurance reimbursements which, unfortunately, rarely cover the cost of the calls. It is not uncommon for us to bill, say, $1000 and receive less than half that amount from the insurance company. This forces us to balance bill the patient. As a benefit to those we serve, we offer individual and family memberships to residents of our response area whereby we agree to accept whatever their insurance company pays as payment in full (less co-pays or deductibles as stipulated by the individual insurance plan). Also covered are two Response and Assessment calls (Dispatched by 911, conduct a patient assessment, patient opts not to be transported) for a savings of $475 to $550!
