Authorized Provider of CPR American Heart Association

CPR and First Aid Training

At Susquehanna Township EMS, our Community Training Institute can prepare your employees or group to respond to emergencies before professional help arrives. We offer training in Adult CPR, Child CPR, Infant CPR, First Aid and use to the AED (automated external defibrillator). We specialize in coming to your location, on your schedule to provide the training.

In addition, we have teamed with the Emergency Care and Safety Institute to offer programs in infection control and pediatric first aid under the auspices of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Association of Emergency Physicians.

CPR/First Aid combines the skills of adult CPR with the various first aid skills needed until help arrives (bleeding, burns, falls, exposures to chemicals, heat and cold, insect stings and snake bite, etc.) This course may be combined with the AED course all in one sitting. It is our single most popular course. [4 - 4-1/2 hours].

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid was designed with the child caregiver in mind.  It covers interacting with children; preparation; rescue breathing; choking; asthma; allergic reactions; diabetic emergencies; seizures; shock; bleeding; mouth injuries; wounds; fractures and sprains; head and neck injuries; burns; environmental emergencies; CPR and may include infant CPR and AED use. [6.5-7.5 hours].

Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider is the course required by EMTs, nurses working in critical areas, life guards, etc. It includes adult, child and infant one and two rescuer CPR, use of airway adjuncts and the bag-valve-mask. AED is included as part of the course.

All classes begin at 8 AM and are limited to 12 participants.  Pre-registration required.

All courses are taught by American Heart Association certified instructors in our employ. Pricing includes text books, instruction, practice materials, one-way-valve and certification card.

We maintain detailed records of all classes for at least as long as the certification period. This means that if your company needs to demonstrate that you have trained personnel and you can't find the records - we can!

We also participate in the AHA Online renewal skills demonstration program for BLS for Healthcare Providers.
