Non-Emergency Wheelchair Transportation Services
Q. What are non-emergency medical transports?
A. Often called "routine transports", we provide the ability to get to doctors offices for appointments, to clinics and hospitals for testing, returns home from the hospital when the patient must go in a wheelchair.

Q. How do I take advantage of this?
A. Transport arrangements are made by calling (717) 545-0842
Monday through Friday, 8 AM until 5 PM.
The service is available
Monday thru Friday from 5 AM until 11 PM and Saturdays
from 5 AM until 5 PM.

Q. How much notice is required?
A. We prefer to have a minimum of 24
hours notice however; we will try to accommodate all requests as staffing permits.

Q. What effect does weather play?
A. We try to accommodate your needs. However,
inclement weather may cause traffic problems beyond our control,
making scheduling difficult. In addition, we will not provide non-emergency transport when, in our best judgment, such service would be dangerous to you or our personnel.

Q. How far will you go?
A. With proper notice we will go anywhere in Pennsylvania and have occasionally gone as far as Baltimore or Washington.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. Our rates are $40 each way for wheelchair transports .
There is a mileage charge
if mileage is greater then 10 miles one-way.

Q. Will Medicare or my insurance cover the charge?
A. In most instances Medicare and insurance
do not cover non-emergency transportation. However, in some special cases it
may. Please call our office about your situation.

Q. Do you provide oxygen?
A. Yes, we can provide short term, low-flow
oxygen to get home from the hospital.
There is a charge for oxygen use.

Q. Who will be taking me?
A. All of our ambulance providers are
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) certified by the Department
of Health. Our wheelchair van operators are either EMTs or
specially trained associates.
